The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), established in India in September 1925, stands as the world’s largest voluntary organization, marking a century of nation-building and community service. Through its signature approach of quiet, grassroots work, the RSS has fostered hundreds of social service programs, unified communities, and promoted social cohesion by breaking down traditional divisions. This humble method of service—treating even the harshest critics with respect—often proves difficult for those viewing the organization through conventional Western ideological lenses.
In the United States, politically motivated actors and media often misrepresent the RSS, creating negative repercussions for the Indian diaspora, particularly Hindu-Americans.
RSS Friends, as a dedicated well-wisher organization, seeks to address these challenges by providing factual clarity. We believe that over time, these efforts will dispel misconceptions about the RSS and, more importantly, support the integrity of the Hindu-American community.
